Definitely Female

Sophie has always been fascinated by make-up. A couple of months ago we had a routine where I would grab my make-up bag and walk into my bedroom. If Sophie saw me, she would sit by my mirror and wait for me to sit down in front of it. There we sat for 5-10 minutes -- me putting my face on and Sophie playing beside me, scattering compacts, tubes, and bottles all over the floor.

This was two weeks ago -- around the time she started opening all those. Luckily I caught her with a giant mascara smudge on her chin and not in her mouth. Ugh.

A couple of weeks ago she started opening eyeshadow compacts and mascara tubes, so I've had to do my make-up in the bathroom with all the goodies out of reach. Sophie hates it. As a consolation, I give her the lid to my powder case with a little powder inside and hand her a brush. She walks happily out of the bathroom, sits down in front of the mirror in my bedroom and primps away.

I don't know why she thinks she needs make-up anyway. She's got perfect skin. :)

I think when Carter gets as old as Sophie, I hope he will not want to put make up on with mommy and would rather be out working on a truck or four wheeler or something! And rather than a smudge of mascara, it would be a smudge or oil or grease! But with my luck, he will probably be a ballerina....

Very cute! Now we just have wait until you have a boy and see what he'd do... :) She really is adorable, though. :) Good luck keeping your makeup "safe"! :)

Jakob likes playing with my make-up too...he doesn't put it on. He just likes to open and close the compacts. I know it's a disaster just waiting to happen. That last picture is adorable by the way.

Sophie is SO cute! When Abrie was her age she used to get my mascara and rub it into my carpet. Now she is content to playing with a make-up brush similar to Sophie's in the picture, but she insists on dipping it in water. It's so much better than the alternative that I just go with it. :D

I can remember siting with Mom in the bathroom while she tried on color after color of Avon lipsticks. To this day I always find myself wanting to buy bright and odd colors when ever I got to the grocery store. I resist!

She beautiful! And such talent in application at such a young age. Does she have beauty pageants in her future? Kidding!

Yes, minky seems to repel the liquid instead of absorb it. Luckily these new bibs I made have 4 layers, fabric, batting, stabilizer ("stain barrier"), fabric.

Maybe there's a soon-to-arrive little girl that needs them :)

This reminds me of when I was little and used to sneak into my mom's bathroom and put on all of her makeup (yes, all of it.) You should've seen my beautiful eyes. :) So glad Sophie is learning early!
