Baby #2 Details

Thanks for all the well wishes! And even for the morning sickness sympathy. I must confess, though, it's not that bad. I never threw up with Sophie, and I haven't thrown up yet with this one. I hate telling people that (especially people who have really bad morning sickness) because it makes me feel guilty for not being sick. I guess I just luck out in that department. So however that little ticker says that I'm feeling may or may not be accurate because I don't write those little comments. Just smile because they're funny. If you wish to redirect your pity to my prematurely protruding abdomen, you're more than welcome.

As far as the details:

Due date? Around the first week in December

How I'm feeling? Meh. I've lost my appetite and feel a little sick to my stomach, but like I said, I don't have it as bad as some. I'm also really, really tired.

Planned? Um, not really. It was sort of a surprise, but I think that when you're not preventing very seriously, you're pretty much planning. We're excited though and feel like it's time for round two.

Boy? Girl? I think it's another girl. I don't know, I have this gut feeling again like I did with Sophie. For financial and spacial reasons, I really want it to be a girl. I don't want to have to buy duplicates of everything I already have just so it can be blue. We decided not to find out what it is, though.

Age difference with Sophie? 19 months apart. (Same as Asher and Chilton Baby #2!) To be honest, I thought people who had their babies less than two years apart were nuts. Now that it's happening to me, I still think I'm a little nuts, but I'm also happy that Sophie will have someone close to her age to play with. We were spread out in four-year intervals in my family, which is OK, too, but I always wondered what it would have been like to have a sibling closer in age.

Anything else? Yes. I am most definitely not gaining 60 pounds again like last time.

Yaaaaaa! I'm so excited for you. I was wondering about that the other day when you were talking about trying to wean Sophie. Yaaaa! I had to add another, I'm so happy for you guys!

I'm really so thrilled for you! It's kind of exciting and crazy thinking about that you'll be a family of 4!! And weaning...that's funny...I was about 11 weeks pregnant with this one when I finally weaned Joseph. And HOORAY for you not finding out what you're having!! It's so fun! CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!!!

Yeah, I'm with you about thinking your nuts...hehe, jk. I think I AM nuts, but it will be cool to have the kids 19 months apart. Now that I am about 2 1/2 months away from reality, it's sinking in...how is this all going to work?! But it will, and it will be fun. Asher got weaned by 13 months, and my morning sickness/queasiness lessened, so hopefully it will work for you too. Yay for wanting it to be a surprise...we didn't find out if we're having a boy or girl either. I am so excited!!!

That's funny. When I talked about weaning Sophie, I wasn't thinking of being pregnant -- i never connected the two. I'm still nursing her in the morning and at night. If weaning means I'll feel less queasy, then she might get pulled off a little earlier. :)

Congrats!!! I had no idea. I am so excited for you both. It will be so fun for Sophie to have someone to play with. It makes a huge difference. I have just loved having two babies for that reason. They are just the best of friends and play so well together. again congratulations.

hahah! I always think it's so funny when people say it's not planned but they're not preventing (someone I know did nothing...like, NOTHING to prevent) and are still surprised when they are pregnant. :)

so happy for you!

Yay Natalie! (I know, it's been said--but I want to say it, too!) I'm glad you don't get very sick, but I definitely empathize on the tired thing. On the weaning--in my experience, it didn't do anything to the "morning sickness" (which wasn't bad-no throwing up-but wasn't exactly fun, either)--though Emma wasn't nursing very much anyway. She weaned last month.

And finally-good luck with not gaining 60 pounds! (That is not sarcasm!) Pregnancies are all so different--I gained 70 with Jonathan, but only 30-40 with Emma. I think my dedication to my prenatal exercise videos helped (as well as the fact that I ate more healthily). Which means I should probably dedicate myself again to that exercising... :)

Anyway, I wish you the best--all the good things of pregnacy. :)

Chels, what I imagine "planning" to be is...

"OK, honey we have to do it tonight and tomorrow night and the next night because I ovulate in 3 days!!"

It wasn't exactly like that :)

Congratulations!! To you, and Hilly (wow, who's the guy?), and of course to Dev and Andrea. I wish I were back in the States and closer to Idaho so I could be there to celebrate with y'all!

LOL. ok, true that!

Nat!! Congratulations! That is so awesome. I nursed Ellen for the first four or five months I was pregnant with Jack, and I was never sick at all. It did get a little painful, though. Keep us updated :)

Congratulations! That's very exciting. It definitely feels like you have a little "family" when you add a second child. Sophie will be a great big sister. Hope you start getting that energy back soon - I hate the exhaustion!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Oh, how exciting for you! My girls are 21 months apart and it seems like the perfect age difference. Except when they fight. But I guess that is just siblings for ya!

Good luck with your pregnancy, Natalie!!

So happy for you. I'm actually wanting another one soon too, but our plans to move to Germany are throwing a wrench in those plans. We'll see though. I'm so excited for you!
