Breaking Potty News
I would like to announce that Sophie, for the first time in her little 23 month life, peed in her little pink potty this morning. All by herself. Literally. I didn't even know she'd done it until I went over and looked.
We got her a potty a couple of months ago because she acted interested, but mostly used it as a toy. We would ask her if she wanted to sit on it and she would always give us a resounding, "NO!" I've learned that Sophie (like most toddlers, I'm sure) does things at her own pace, when she decides to do them, and hates to be forced into anything. During the past few weeks, she's been into taking her pants and her diaper off and sitting on her potty. (Without much prompting from us.) Until this morning she hadn't left any presents.
Congrats little one! We're so proud of you!
Hopefully this will be start of a very short, very clean process. *crossing fingers*

Oh. When I saw the title I first though that your potty broke. That's happened to us.
Good luck with the training! Emma started going on the potty over a year ago. She was more reliable than Jonathan for months, until he became toilet-trained himself last July. Now she hardly ever goes on it at all. *sigh*
Oh, I do hope she continues forward for you - what a good sign that she truly did it all on her own!
Way to go Soph! I am so stinkin excited. Asher is getting one...like tomorrow! Walking all the way upstairs, and praying Silas doesn't get hurt while I'm up there (or bringing him...ugh), isn't working too well. That, and, well, Asher is a boy and I have heard boys are rough. I am excited!!!
"very short, very clean process." My thoughts exactly.
Hurray for Sophie and good luck to you!! Annelie has decided that she wants to be potty trained. She is good about 80% of the time, put has this HORRIBLY ANNOYING habit of taking off all her clothes and having accidents on the carpet. EW!
I hate potty training. Its so nice when they are big enough to do it all themselves, including the wiping and hand washing. Its
Yay! Potty training is really gross, potty training I hate the most. :) Adelyn was all excited and ready and would be officially potty trained, no accidents at all but she refuses to go #2 without a diaper. Toddlers are so funny.
JEALOUS! My 3.5 year old isn't remotely interested.
hooray!!
ugh, I'm starting to dread the potty training process.
that's so exciting you'll have to give me any tips you have when i begin that...sigh but that's a least a year away! oh so i tried that romano chicken recipe from your other blog. love it!
