Thanks Honey

Dear Steve,

Thanks for letting me sleep until 8 this morning. I promise I wasn't being lazy. A gigantic T-Rex with razor-sharp teeth was chasing me up a mountain, and I needed to reach the top to go through the exit portal back into our dimension. I could have hidden from him, but in his eyes, I had a fluorescent green aura around me. Luckily I made it in time.

Thanks for bringing me breakfast, too. I love toast and eggs -- especially when someone else makes them for me.

It was because of you I was in a chipper mood and didn't completely lose my head when Sophie gave Ivy her first bloody nose at 8:30 AM. I ran upstairs to grab the laundry basket just in time to hear frantic crying. I should have seen it coming when Sophie fanned me with her puzzle board right before I went upstairs. I guess she tried to cool Ivy off, too.

Now there are blood stains next to the sippy cup stains on the couch -- right next to the ginormous hole that we constantly try to cover up. Don't worry, we'll make that poor couch last a couple more years.

I just remembered that you were going to call me this afternoon, and that I need to turn my phone back on. It's been off since last night.

Love you,
Me

I love all the things you're posting about. It's more like real life. I can relate, and I feel like I'm not alone in toddlerness and babydom.

This made me laugh. Asher gave Silas a bloody nose a few months ago. I think that the tables have turned though. Are you sure you want to baby sit my boys? How about Friday since I forgot to email you about tomorrow?

Ahh, one of those days huh?! So if 8 am is sleeping in to you, what time do you normally get up?! Yay for good husbands!:)

Sophie usually wakes up around 6:45 or 7. Steve leaves most mornings by 7:15, so I have to be up by then. Ivy wakes up when she hears everyone else up, so we're early risers around here. (Thanks to Sophie) Unfortunately, putting her to bed an hour or two later only makes her sleep in about 15 minutes and then she's cranky the rest of the day.

Bless his heart!

We're on 'summer schedule' in these parts which means the kids sleep late but I'm still up by 8:00. I've gotten back into my bad habit of staying up too late at night again though. It's just so quiet and peaceful when the rest of them are sleeping that it's hard to make myself go to bed. Sigh.

Sleep is always an issue for a Mom, it just shifts and changes with the ages of the kids. Here's hoping that there's more of it in your future!
